I just had the weirdest dream. New chapter was out, denji had a superhero suit that turned out being a chicken suit, and the enemies were a bunch of ghosts. Denji asks ghost devil for help but it turns into a giant truck and kidnaps asa. :22166:

is it just me or has the quality of the art in csm taken a bit of a hit recently?
14

u/SearingKolbalt May 23 '23
i don’t mean this in a negative way, it just makes me a little sad as an artist to see someone so insanely talented not be able to maintain the quality for whatever reasons they may have

NOOOOOO the next chapter is out on a day I have an exam the biweekly devil is ruining my life yet again

unfortunately it just leads to an error… but huh? I wonder what caused that to show up

biweekly hurts my soul :(
I do understand why ofc, but still

u/yoloswag42069696969a May 23 '23
Why can’t they just have bigger teams? Aren’t these mangakas pretty loaded? They can just draw the most important panels and the rest can be done by someone else.
6
u/totolin May 17 '23
Why?
33
u/8dev8 May 18 '23
let me just say theres a reason most Mangka die around their 50s
3
1
u/Leiatte May 19 '23 edited May 19 '23
Is that even true? Manga is a brutal job especially on a weekly schedule don’t get me wrong but I don’t think there are any facts to back this claim up. There are a LOT of mangaka & not everyone does it for a really long time.
Now I know that stress can definitely affect health, & overworking can even land one in the hospital. I just feel your claim is a reach
I’ve been reading manga for a pretty long time, so I’m also curious as to whom you have in mind with this statement. As there have been mangaka with illnesses that are unrelated to their careers

Yoru's incredible master plan:
- Asa will finish off CSM in mere seconds
- This will somehow cause CSM to vomit the nuke devil back out
- Yoru will then somehow use the nuke devil to regain her power also within seconds
- She will then fight off not just the caterpillar devil but also the falling devil
Yeah she is about as smart as a pet rock :22166:
3
u/SnooMacaroons5889 May 17 '23
Maybe the version I found on a free website didn’t have all the pages but I think she might wait for CSM to kill off the the devils for her, this weakening him first As for her plan to make him throw up the nuke devil I have no idea, I doubt if it would even work in the hybrid form and would probably require his full devil form In which case I which Asa and Yoru good luck bc he one shot the hell devil and then defeated Makima not long after

46

-37
u/TAnoobyturker May 15 '23
No way you actually believe that
14
May 16 '23
Why do you dislike part 2?
-24
u/TAnoobyturker May 16 '23
Part 2 feels so stripped back and less interesting than part 1.
Think about who we had in part 1 (off the top of my head, if I forget people I sowwy): Denji, Power, Aki, Himeno, Kishibe, Makima. All of these characters were interesting and fun to watch communicating with one another. It felt like every chapter was making progress towards a goal.
In part 2, the only character I care about is Denji. I honestly don't even like Asa's character. She's boring and has nothing going for her besides the fact that she's kind of similar to Denji. I don't get what Fujimoto's end goal is with these two taking up so much of the chapter run times.
14
May 16 '23
If you don’t like or identify with Asa’s character then yeah it’s going to be a rough go of this part. That said if you’re really not into it then why not take a break? Come back when there’s more of a picture of what’s going to be happening.
We’re kind of the point where Part 2 has [probably] told us what it is and if it’s not for you then don’t torture yourself. No one’s going to be able to convince you to like Asa all of a sudden, but you’re also not accomplishing much by asking a thread of people who largely enjoy the current arc to agree with you that the series is past its prime.
2
u/TAnoobyturker May 17 '23
You're right and that's what I've been doing. But I still lurk in this subreddit.
18
u/Conquestenjoyer May 16 '23
Yeah the goal was their fucking death but now chainsawman is about two teenagers who have lost everything so of course it feels like there is no meaning to their life but we can still look forward to sex

I think Denji is gonna realize Asa (who was really Yoru) tried to turn him into a weapon. I don’t see Fuji not making Denji notice this time around and I think he’ll be mad
12
u/SnooMacaroons5889 May 17 '23
u/fallaround has a point Denji has 2 brain cells and their competing for 3rd place. I’m sure he’ll have questions but given literally any even plausible answer he’d probably not even question it
44
u/fallaround May 13 '23
I want him to notice aswell but consider this, denji is missing more then a few brain cells.
12
u/Megafruitspunch May 15 '23
Even if he realizes, he has no idea how her ability works, so he may not realize that she was actually trying to kill him. He might just think she was trying to give him a power up.

Why is everyone saying there are two chainsawmen? Are there?
1
u/SnooMacaroons5889 May 17 '23
I’m not sure what some of these comments are talking about either, because there was one guy claiming to be and then it’s revealed it’s a surgical implant bc he’s a huge fanboy
1
u/carrot-parent Chensoman May 17 '23
That’s exactly what I was thinking too! But if you go back to the chapter school shooter girl died denji is sleeping when chainsawman kills her, and on the first page of the last chapter Asa sees 2 seperate chainsawmen.
21
u/Cardandgold May 12 '23
Asa is gonna trick Yoru into leaving her by killing the doppelganger CSM 🧠

u/8dev8 May 16 '23
Yoru hates Chainsawman for eating nukes/maybe messing her up back when the horsemen jumped him?
Denji has nothing to do with it, its the chainsaw devil she has issue with?
7
30
u/jaykaysian May 11 '23
I don't exactly blame you for not picking up on it before this chapter. It's there but can be sorta easily missed by speedy readers

He was first introduced when he killed Yuko, remember?

46
u/fallaround May 11 '23
Didn’t Asa say “super strong uniform sword” when she made that sword? I wonder if yoru just doesnt understand her ability and you can easily make powerful stuff by doing that I feel like she has to have some reason to think guilt plays in though. I think it’s possible Asa bypassed the only make weapons restriction by having the motorcycle have a massive chainsaw. Maybe she can make just about anything though
22
u/ChongusTheSupremus May 12 '23
I wonder if yoru just doesnt understand her ability and you can easily make powerful stuff by doing that I feel like she has to have some reason to think guilt plays in though.
Maybe the base's object power also affects the end-result?
Yoru was able to turn pencils and other stuff into one time used decently strong weapons, and she obviously didn't care about them, so Yoru's power itself may even affect the power of the converted weapon. The Aquarium spear was also worhtless to Yoru/Asa, specially because they bought it for next to nothing and it wasn't even their money, yet it was still incredibly strong, probably because it was made from a building.
A motorcycle is definitely way "stronger" than a pencil in terms of weight, force it can excersize, and even all the energy it can generate, so maybe that helped the Super Chainsaw Man Motorcycle be as strong as it was.
Or, the next chapter will either start with the Chainsawbike being in ruins, or breaking down over time as it is being used, just like Yoru's weaker one-time use weapons.
There's one thing to be sure of tho, Yoru's powers definitely rely on guilt, hence why Asa's uniform sword was so strong.
9
u/Urbasebelong2meh May 13 '23
I mean, I think Yoru's power works as she explains, but it's also really strong.
Yoru obviously doesn't care about the pencils, but they're pretty good to begin with. She doesn't feel guilty about creating most of her weapons, though, and every very strong weapon we've seen Asa has made, and has consistently been able to one-shot. The Aquarium Spear was strong because of the guilt, and an enemy it took Part 1 Denji days to rip through was obliterated in an instant, and it also did some Darkness Devil shit to Yuko.
It seems like the base power is very, very strong, but the guilt ramps it up to 11. That motorcycle is probably going to be very strong because Asa's guilty for stealing it—it's how much of a stickler for rules she is that makes her weapons so fucking powerful.
2
u/Jacarezinho00 May 11 '23
bro sword or chainsaw for yoru powers (proclaim weapon) its the same , nothing new
9
u/Cautionzombie May 11 '23
Bro the difference is using the word super. Yoru never said it asa has said it twice
3
u/Jacarezinho00 May 11 '23
It's chainsaw man calling a name before attack means nothing if I remember correctly even denji joke about this once
2
u/Cautionzombie May 12 '23
But wars power is word based ad far as we know and another devil had the same makimas bang had to say bang
25
17
u/Scared_Thing_7307 May 11 '23
I think Denji might be the fake chainsaw man. The Denji we’ve seen since part 2 chapter 6 is the fake chainsaw man and the real Denji is trapped in hell. I think this because Denji’s character in part 2 seems a little flanderized to me
72
u/TheFlyingToasterr May 11 '23 edited May 13 '23
Bro is absurdly traumatized and instead of trying to come to terms with it he avoids it by thinking of sex, of course he is going to be a shell of his old self in some ways.
28
u/cruel-oath May 11 '23
Interesting thought but what about Nayuta. Wouldn’t she know or have problems with it
2
May 13 '23
If it is a future Denji, I think that would imply that he and Nayuta had some sort of falling out which led him to become fakesaw
49

u/Hezolinn May 10 '23
No one's given a thirty-minute lecture on marine biology or been brainwashed into thinking they're a dog (yet). So far, this is shaping up to be Denji and Asa's most successful date.
102
u/WittyCombination6 May 10 '23
I just realized then Denji had the same reaction when Asa told him to steal the motorcycle from that young woman to when falling devil stole those apples from that old lady meaning Denji doesn't discriminate based off age. all women are beautiful in his eyes.

I didn't really like it tbh just felt like a big nothingburger of a chapter
The bike was the only notable thing and it's just set-dressing
5
u/chiefmaster1012 May 12 '23
For me that has been the case for the last chapters and with this second part in general, I just can't see the point asa and her development. I hope I'll understand it in the future but for now these chapters have been slow and almost with no content.
35
u/AccomplishedCourse83 May 10 '23
That's just fine imo. Not every chap has to be full of content. Gotta have that pacing

u/th3caramelb3ar May 10 '23
The other chainsaw man could be 1 of 2 things in my book. Either its a fragment of chainsaw man ( like what other countries had with the gun devil) and it formed another chainsaw man due to healing factor or! Chainsaw man exist in hell at the same time as the denji one lives in real life. That's maybe why he can't really die/ heals fast bc he is already In hell
4
u/Pacific_Rimming May 11 '23
Inreresting theory re the fragment thing. I don't think the second part applies as Denji was asleep in the overworld while fake CSM was killing Yuko in the OV.

"Save me Chainsaw Man" Hmmm I have seen what happen to devils and people who said that. Quite a foreshadowing.
26
u/NexusX25 May 10 '23
Honestly at this point I feel like the other CSM is just an CSM that came from future because he failed to save Asa Mitaka, she prollyyyyy got served by Falling, then some really messed up stuff happens which leads to MIRAI SAIKO, then he sends Denji in past, but he have to make sure to not meet Denji cuz there is this old theory if our future self meets our past self it can mess up reality or so, I've seen in some very old animes. It might not be scientific but oh well.
7
u/TheKingOfRooksV3 Certified Power Enjoyer™ May 10 '23
this old theory if our future self meets our past self it can mess up reality or so, I've seen in some very old animes. It might not be scientific but oh well.
That was the concept of that movie a while back too, like Project Almanac or whatever. The found footage one where they discover time travel but shit goes wrong when they meet their past selves by mistake.
29
80
u/MayureshMJ May 10 '23
Lmao i love she just blurts, "Super chainsawman Motorbike" it immediately converts into one and Denji doesn't even bother to check how why or what even once.
40
u/ltags230 May 10 '23
I fully expect Dennis to think he did it and himself and start gloating ab it.
54
u/Tonoukun May 10 '23
It’s like when Asa converted the entire aquarium into a spear then Yoru one-shot the eternity devil but Denji didn’t notice a thing because of the penguin it’s part of his charm
17
12
26
u/raziqmdarif May 10 '23
So Denji and Asa are back on Earth and the devil is following them to Earth too?
26
u/yeagerboi01 May 10 '23
Denji riding a motorcycle Mission Impossible style. Fuck I love this manga dude
24
u/_-ZORO-_ May 10 '23
Denji’s last change would be him getting yellow hair and curly eyebrows for some reason
12
43
u/Gato1486 May 10 '23
I love how stupid ridiculous the bike is.
Though, if Asa had fulfilled her contract with Yoru, she still wouldn't have been safe. Falling was preparing/serving Mitaka Asa as the main course, not War Devil. I don't know if she'll realize it, but by defying Yoru, Asa's saved her life there.
18
u/Incestuous_Alfred May 10 '23
I think it's pretty obvious to anyone with more than half a brain that killing CSM right then and there wasn't an option. Too bad Yoru only has half a brain.
4
u/Relative-Pineapple73 May 10 '23
Yoru could have stopped Asa if she wanted to.
19
u/Incestuous_Alfred May 10 '23
Not now, I don't think. Don't forget that Yoru gets locked out if Asa is in distress, and that happened earlier in this very arc.
6
16
u/Tonoukun May 10 '23
Yoru also wasn’t thinking properly. If Asa didn’t save Denji, there’s no way she’d survive the night alone. Makima didn’t go for the kill against darkness devil so even if chainsaw man threw up nuclear weapons, that might not be enough for them to beat a primal fear esp with Asa’s mental state being a bad matchup into her.
3
3
u/prometheusunending May 10 '23
That doesn't really seem like a problem for Yoru, though? Devils don't die permanently unless Chainsaw Man eats them, they just reincarnate. And once she kills Chainsaw Man or whatever she won't need Asa anymore.
2
u/Tonoukun May 10 '23 edited May 10 '23
Yes but if she dies and goes back to hell she loses her memories and there goes bye bye whatever plans she had moving forward from her goal
2
u/prometheusunending May 11 '23
That's assuming that she actually has any plans beyond "make Chainsaw Man vomit up nuclear weapons". And in that case, what's to stop her from arranging some contingency plan to remind herself in case she dies?
3
u/Tonoukun May 11 '23
Ofc she has more plans. Yoru is more nuanced than we think. For example we know she doesn’t want to be forgotten. Hence once she gets stronger, it’s not farfetched to assume she has a plan to instigate a war or something that will re establish her presence.
And how would she even “arrange a contingency plan to remind herself once she dies” given her powers are combat based.
Remember when power was dying she was disheartened she would lose all her memories. If it was possible to remind yourself of your previous life, why wouldn’t she have done that?
Likewise, Makima also died and reincarnated. You’d think if that concept was possible of “arrange a contingency plan to remind herself once she dies” Makima of all people would have done it. She’s the control devil, a a control freak and loves calling the shots. Yet we saw Nayuta reincarnate without the same memories or ideals as Makima, hence losing all progress for her plans.
1
u/Civil_Conflict_7541 May 12 '23
Yeah, but I can also imagine Nayuta rejecting to be "controlled" by her former self.
0
u/prometheusunending May 12 '23
Devil power we haven't seen yet? Accomplice? Letter mailed to self? Sticky note on the refrigerator saying "don't forget to start a war"? Plenty of ways.
"Yoru definitely has stuff going on that we don't know about, and Makima definitely didn't have anything going on that we don't know about" is an obviously flawed argument. Power of all people was capable of making arrangements to be reminded of her past self, it's not that hard.

What I learned from this chapter:
- Fujimoto just loves trolling the audience by teasing and leaving plot points open
- GHOST RIDERS IN THE SKYYYYY...well almost
- Asa still not really beating the femcel allegations and Yoru being basically Sukuna with Power as his personality is going to make the Denji = Chainsawman reveal hillarious. And tragic.
- Fujimoto is definitely cooking something. And I smell potential emotional trauma, violence and death....oh boy here we go!
