I also felt like their attitudes were a lot different, the denji on the stairwell actually stands up for himself, meanwhile the denji in the rooftop literally has mifune sitting on his back and he couldn't bring himself to resist her offer back in the movie theater

We already know there is a second chainsaw man looking after denji, and the way denji "teleported" to reach the stairwell before sugo, it could be a gag about how desperate denji got after sugo mentioned sex, or it could be foreshadowing to there being a second denji and it would also be a possible explanation for the second chainsaw man

- The whole beginning interaction with Sugo genuinely cracked me up. Mans really thought he was dropping a bombshell on Denji.
- Denji not being fully swayed by the prospect of eating top tier food to his heart's content shows how far he's really come. Sure shit is FAR from perfect but it makes me happy that he's legitimately achieved a degree of contentment in life that seemed impossible in his early life.
- But of course the prospect of sex turns Denji into the fastest man in the world lmao.
- "The Weapons" being members of the Chainsawman Church is a fascinating development. I wonder if Denji's gonna end up finding his new "family" with them considering how they all potentially have a common thread of regaining autonomy after being used as tools for years. I also wonder if that means that we're gonna be seeing Quanxi & Reze again after all...
- Also there's something genuinely sweet about Sugo wanting to be Denji's friend after taking Makima out. Correct me if I'm wrong but that may legit be the first time that someone's outright extended an offer of friendship to Denji since Pochita...hopefully that doesn't end up meaning that he's not long for this world :22164:.
-Oh and I didn't get to say this last week but I LOVE how Fujimoto subverted expectations in 137 by making the new girl Denji's Public Safety bodyguard.
This arc continues to be the gift that keeps on giving, with each new development adding enticing layers of intrigue to the proceedings. I've given up on trying to assume where this story is taking us (partially because of how adept Fujimoto is at swerving when we think he's going in a straight line) and am instead eagerly awaiting where this unhinged rollercoaster is taking us next. I've never been more excited about an impending apocalypse :22170:.

Idk why there isn't a discussion thread for the new chapter yet, but it seems like other people are just using this one, so I will too.
If The Weapons are the top brass at the Chainsaw Man Church, and Denji is joining the Chainsaw Man Church, it seems to me like there's a good chance we might actually see Reze again, some time in the next chapter or two.

I got a little theory that Sword Man was actually the first hybrid that Makima captured since he was introduced first in chapter 86 and Katana Man, Reze and Quanxi were introduced in the order they were captured in the same chapter.

this the biggest bombshell of this chapter lmao. This sub has been saying the scars werent real for so long now and everyone that mentions the scars always gets told they arent real hahaha. Maybe they are real, but the arent as pronounced as they are for the viewer. Thats my guess since no one every has mentioned it until now really.

Depends, Denji can die if he breaks the deal he has with Pochita. So if either of the hybrids break their contract with their respective devils then they can die.

Yeah I thought it was clear that after the Makima fight they either fled or were captured by public safety before they revived. I guess since they haven't been mentioned since part 1 people weren't sure if Fujimoto was going to bring them back into the story at all. Not sure why people are surprised they are alive though.

honestly i wouldn't be surprised that after fighting fullf ledged chainsaw man they were obliterated.
honestly its probably 'vampir rules' and you can kill one by destroying the part of the body where the devil is residing. take that out, you kill em both.
think the only reason why katana man was alive from denji's attack is cause the devil in question exists in his arm.

Katana man says his physical heart was replaced with the with replaced with the Katana Devil despite the ignition trigger being in his arm. Though I would say Reze and Quanxi have their devils somewhere in their heads since both can make a full transformation from just a head.

Bruh how does Fujimoto consistently write such Fire. I mean Mifune is a new and interesting character. But what’s more is it gives us more insight into these “special divisions”. Considering division 4 was the gang form part 1. And division 5 (I think) was all of the hybrids under Makima’s control. Now hearing about 7, means this girl is probably something pretty special. And also, in general Denji was being funny as fuck this chapter.
I’m suprised no one is talking about Asa and Yoru’s section though, as this is a pretty big moment for her. Like marks a huge change in her and her life. And while not fleshed out, I think it was handled really well. I just love how Fujimoto uses like “reaction” shots so to speak.
Also obvious sword man hype. I’m also glad that it wasn’t Reze or Quanxi (right off the bat, but it’s very realistic we see them eventually now). Just because I’m excited to meet new hybrids. And also hopefully Denji can get to have a real conversation with another hybrid too.

He was one of the hybrids in special division 5 during the Pochita fight. His face is only shown briefly before he transforms. He is a different kind of sword from Katana Man

Also imma guessing here that most weapon devils might have served the horseman in the past. LEguit have the theory that the Gun devil was previously a servant too and chainsawman took him out in hell... and when he spawned on earth...

Power will almost certainly come back in one way or another, based on her last conversation with Denji, unless Fujimoto changes his mind/drops that plot point. Aki won’t, since humans don’t reincarnate in another dimension (that we know of). He was dead as soon as the gun devil took over his body.

Aki was not a hybrid, he was a fiend, fiends are dead humans and a devil uses their body.
Hybrids are humans that make a contract with a devil and the devil basically becomes their heart. At least that is how Denji became an hybrid, probably all hybrids have a deal with a devil. The only way to kill a hybrid is by breaking said contract ( assuming said contract can be broken)
So sadly Aki is dead, he was a corpse when the gun devil took over his body and humans as far as we know can't reincarnate.

makima is shown to be able to control people who are dead. something probably a bit necromancy like. The lady who made a pact witht the snake devil was killed by the snake devil after all and she popps up too.
I imagine their souls ended up freed when makima was taken out permenantly.

those were some big revelations... Asa's scars getting acknowledged as a visible transformation (making Yoshida more sus on his reaction), the hybrids being alive (and I'm fucking hyped to see them again and get more in-depth with the others), SA-chan is actually a PSDH at 22, and we kinda now know that Denji's identity as CSM is getting leaked with that sudden ambush.
im seeing some critique but to me the machinegun introductions are very fujimoto. i feel like the next thing is either sword boy gonna fight with Denji or reveal to him some stuff about why he's being hunted down by randoms (hybrids are pretty much weapons in of themselves)

There are 3 possible reasons Denji doesn't remember Swordman.
1) Denji doesn't give a shit about dudes unless they are his friends or foes. Like how he forgot about Yoshida .
2) Denji was in a Berserk rage and Makima and Reze would have occupied way more attention during that crazy fight.
3) if Fami is to be believed Swordman fought The Black Chainsawman which would have been Pochita not Denji.

Part 1 shows Denji wanting to live a simple life. Most of Part 2's theme is Denji doubting the kind of life he really wants. He's still figuring it out. He's more cautious now but still occasionally fall for trapshits cuz he's Denji.

Same problem he's had every other time he's gotten something he thought he wanted. It isn't actually what he wanted. He wants an emotional connection and to be valued for who he is as a person. He misinterprets this as wanting sex and recognition.
Those things would probably feel great for him to get, as evidenced by the way he gets excited every time it's on the table, but they aren't the end goals like he thinks they are.
