What kind of virtue signaling does he think he's doing? Has Trump been railing against the original three movies and I've missed it? How much money does he think he's giving up, not human trafficking for a couple of hours?

The latest Star Wars trilogy was disliked and poor planned with a woman lead so it was an alt right pipeline. I wouldn't be surprised if The Last of Us 2 got mentioned by this charlatan.
21
u/texanarob May 31 '23
In fairness, being poorly planned is just being true to the development process from the originals. Only trilogy to have actual planning so far was the prequels, and that's only because they knew where the story had to go.
Edit: To be clear, I don't dispute the nonsense where they'll blame the female lead. Rather, this proves that even with a male lead the originals were similarly badly planned - they just got lucky in becoming popular despite questionable quality.
4
u/xsgtdeathx May 31 '23
It was groundbreaking cinema at the time, but yes, obviously luck and questionable quality. /s
3
u/texanarob May 31 '23
It can be groundbreaking in one aspect yet remain questionable quality in others. No matter what Lucas claims, it's obvious he didn't have a story arc planned out in advance. They're also infamous for continuity errors. Anyone who claims the OT is perfect is blinded by nostalgia - you can enjoy something whilst acknowledging it as flawed.
6
u/xsgtdeathx May 31 '23
Plenty of mega Star Wars nerds out there that have all the info on that. Flawed is a barely noteworthy when it comes to movies, as they're everywhere. While Lucas likely didn't have a whole trilogy planned, let alone a triple trilogy, his originality and ability to bring new ideas to cinema through those movies was revolutionary. He literally invented the technology and filmmaking processes that allowed them to be made. That at minimum gives Star Wars a solid claim as watchable movies. To downplay them is borderline ignorant.
0
u/texanarob May 31 '23
My "downplaying" them was acknowledging the very flaws you outline, and how they are similar to the flaws of the new trilogy. At no point did I say any of the movies were unwatchable.
You are looking for a fight, but I'm simply not against you on this issue.
3
2
u/xnago_tyr_sires May 31 '23
The only truly flawless trilogy is Star Trek II through IV.
0
u/texanarob May 31 '23
I shall choose to believe you. I intentionally avoid watching Star Trek and Dr Who, mostly because I know if I enjoy them I'll end up devoting hundreds of hours of my life to watching them to completion.

Well, technically, he wouldn't be. He's not a millionaire and never has been.

I don’t like him at all, but you can’t say he isn’t a millionaire when he got a Bugatti Chiron with Tate embroidered on the seats which Bugatti themself posted on their official instagram. He is scammer, unfortunatly a very rich one.

Yeah, like raping women and selling kids.
You really should keep the accusations to things there's any evidence for. There are many legitimate reasons to hate him, like the sex trafficking. No need to make things up.
Edit: Rape is one of his charges, so I'll take that back. Now it's just "selling kids" that I think was unnecessary to say.

I can’t stand the dude, but he’s definitely a multi millionaire. Probably not past 10mil but with all the scamming and sex trafficking he’s definitely made a few mil

The super rich do tbf often rent where they live too. Once you get to that level of rich you might own your yacht but rent your house. You've got financial security to buy a house without a mortgage but you're deliberately choosing not to because you know you can just get a house easily
This is especially true if they have staff.

Even if he is, the way he makes his money is fucking lame. He's a scammer, a sex trafficker, a snake oil salesman and a failed pimp. None of his businesses are have actual value, he has no assets and virtually unlimited liability due to the way he runs his business and conducts himself.
Even his kickboxing career is sketchy at best. All the fighters he fought were cans and every time he came up against real high level fighters, he would lose.
He built a brand and a massive following in a very short time, but did very little to capitalize on it. He's basically another chinless loser wannabe influencer, like Dan bilzerian except he has less hair, gets less women and is more hated lol.
2
u/isecore Jun 01 '23
He's such a loser, really. He spends a lot of time portraying himself as some invincible super-dude but you don't even have to spend five minutes examining his bullshit and everything starts coming apart at the seams.

This tweet makes it seem like taking a 2-hour break to watch a movie will somehow ruin your career. Tate so out of touch that he treats book reading and movie watching like time wasters that loose money. It's an odd correlation. Watch movie = lose out on millions of dollars. His brain is totally fried.

They said that because they were trying to get him medically released by the courts and get him out of the country for medical care. After that they’d obviously never return. Romania wasn’t stupid and denied him release and guess what? Suddenly he no longer “had cancer.”
9
u/codetony May 31 '23
This shit right here.
A doctor in Dubai, a place that as far as we know, Tate has never been, said he had cancer.
It also just so happens that the UAE has no extradition treaty with Romania.
So Tate flees to Dubai for "Treatment" and never gets extradited to face trial.
I mean, the guy fled the UK before he could be charged for the exact same crimes, then bragged about how corrupt Romania was, and how he could do whatever he wanted with no consequences.
And honestly? He wasn't wrong. Romania is definitely corrupt. If you have money, you can absolutely do anything. However, the fact that they're coming after him means 1 of 2 things. 1, he pissed off some corrupt cop or politician, and now he's being targeted, or 2. He became such a big problem that corrupt officials could no longer pretend to not see his crimes.
Either way, he's fucked. I can't imagine Romanian prisons have won ethics awards.
2
u/terlin May 31 '23
IIRC he bragged online about how corrupt Romania was and how he had bribed lots of officials and cops. I imagine they weren't too pleased with the visibility.
0
u/daskrip May 31 '23
Did he call Romania corrupt? AFAIK he sung Romania's praises for being a fairer place where men don't get wrongfully charged for crimes. I think he called America a broken country.
