If you’re a boss, do us a favor and don’t discuss politics or religion at work.
I’m a firefighter and I feel my views are pretty centrist. But on the other hand everyone at my department is very right leaning. I’m fine with it until it gets to the point where my chief or lieutenant are ranting 5-10 times a day about either how Trump is going to save us all or how pride month is some type of demon ritual. The higher ranking officers like my chief just constantly talk about their distain with the country and other people, but the lower brass like my lieutenant get to talking very violently about gay people and it makes me super uncomfortable. I think it’s because the chief talks about religion and his politics so they think it’s ok. Sorry for the rant it just sucks having to leave the room every time.
Edit: grammar

I was instructed to dress professionally for an interview. When I arrived the interviewer was wearing shorts and flip flops.
I'm currently unemployed and I have been going to interviews lately. Yesterday I went to an interview with the hiring manager and I was instructed on the phone, by who I believe to be HR, to dress up professionally for the interview, to wear a tie, shave and all of that. When I arrive there the manager was wearing shorts and flip flops. He seemed to be trying really hard to get me to accept the job but only offered me an average salary and was surprised and I wasn't thrilled when he told me the amount. He gave me a week to accept the offer. Honestly I think I'll politely and respectfully decline it, probably on Monday.

I work for a multi-million dollar biotech company and we don’t have a real bathroom. We get a portapotty, and there are slugs coming out of the sink.
It’s my 6th slug this week! (And no, I don’t actually wash my hands with this water anymore. There’s another sink inside the lab, thankfully…)

Does anyone here have a job where they are paid to do mostly nothing?
Saw this question on Quora and want to post this here.
I currently work as a security guard and I feel like I only work for 30 minutes a day in a 8 hour shift.
I work at a utilities site where my duties are to patrol the area which takes me 10 minutes to do. I also let trucks in at the main gate and I recieve 3 to 5 trucks a week where I have to open the gate for them. The rest of the time I'm sitting in my shack with nothing to do. I play on my phone, brought my Steam Deck, Switch Lite, and 3ds to pass the time. Anyone else have a really chill job?
